Going deeper with LMS integrations : what are your needs, expectations, insights

Our team is currently exploring deep integrations with various Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Learn, Moodle, D2L, Canvas, and more.

We're eager to hear your thoughts and insights to make this integration truly relevant and aligned with your needs and practices, when it comes to using LMS information during your synchronous online session and vis versa.

The first step of deep integration would be : Roster, LMS content, Attendance, and possibly Sections (what Canvas calls course sections, Moodle calls meta courses/child course, Learn calls merged course) .

What would be your expectations regarding what a roster/content/attendance/sections integration would enable you to do ?
Where do you see the most value for your day to day work (because it would save your time, or make some of the frustrating things easier)?
What do you think is important we pay attention to regarding roster, content, attendance ? What would a “not so good” integration get wrong ?

Anything you want to tell us about your practices and processes at your institution on those topic?

As we dive deeper into this integration, we also have a few aspects we’re pondering and would love your perspectives on.

  • Global Control vs. Instructor Autonomy, and how granular we should be

  • LMS Content Management: full push vs selective pull approach

  • Attendance and institutional policies vs instructors per session choice

💡 Share Your Considerations: We value your expertise and encourage you to share any considerations or feedback that comes to mind regarding LMS integration for Class. Don't limit yourself to the questions above ! Your input will guide our development process and ensure we create a solution that meets your needs.

Please post your insights in this thread, we're looking forward to engaging with you on this topic !
